HIEMS Body Sculpting: Everything You Need to Know

How does HIEMS work?

HIEMS uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy. The electromagnetic field passes through the skin and stimulates the motor nerves directly, causing deep, repeated muscle contractions. These contractions are far more intense than you could achieve through voluntary exercise, which challenges the muscle to adapt and strengthen over a course of treatments.

What does a session feel like?

The applicators are secured over the area being treated and the intensity is increased gradually to a level you are comfortable with. You will feel strong, rhythmic contractions, a little like an intense workout, but you simply lie back and relax. Each session takes around 30 minutes and you can return to your normal day straight afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

A typical course is four sessions, spaced two to three days apart. Muscles continue to strengthen after the course, so results develop gradually over the following weeks. Occasional maintenance sessions help to keep your results.

Is it right for me?

HIEMS is a muscle toning and body sculpting treatment, not a weight-loss treatment. It works best for people who are close to their ideal weight and want firmer, more defined muscles alongside a healthy diet and regular activity. It is not suitable if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or metal or electronic implants near the treatment area, or have certain medical conditions, so we always start with a consultation.
