Dermal fillers are gel-like injectable treatments, most commonly made from hyaluronic acid – a substance found naturally in the skin that helps it hold moisture and volume. They are used to restore lost volume, soften lines and folds, and subtly enhance or balance your facial features.
Popular treatment areas include the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, nose-to-mouth lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines and under-eye hollows. Several areas can also be treated together to create a more balanced facial profile, as in our Facial Profile Harmonisation treatment.
Every treatment starts with a face-to-face consultation, where we assess your features, discuss your goals and review your medical history. We take a natural, balanced approach – and because hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved, treatment can be adjusted or reversed if ever needed.
We assess your facial proportions, skin quality and any volume loss, and go through your medical history, medicines and allergies. Together we agree a personalised plan – including the areas, product and amount – before you give written consent.
The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be applied; most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic for extra comfort. The filler is then carefully placed using a fine needle or cannula. Treatment usually takes around 30–45 minutes depending on the areas treated.
You will see a difference straight away, with results settling over around two weeks as any swelling goes down. Depending on the area treated, the product used and your metabolism, results typically last between 6 and 18 months.
Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising is common for a few days. For 24–48 hours, avoid touching or massaging the area, wearing make-up on it (for 12 hours), strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat such as saunas. We invite you back for a review at around two weeks.
Dermal fillers are ideal if you want to refresh, restore or enhance your features without surgery. Your practitioner will confirm that treatment is suitable for you at your consultation.

After your consultation and consent, the area is cleansed and may be numbed, and the filler is placed in small, precise amounts with a fine needle or cannula. We check the balance as we go, and the appointment usually takes around 30–45 minutes.
Most people find it very tolerable. Numbing cream can be applied beforehand and most fillers contain a local anaesthetic, so you may feel some pressure or a brief pinch. Lips tend to be the most sensitive area.
That is always our aim. We plan treatment around your natural features and proportions, use conservative amounts and build up gradually if needed, so you look refreshed rather than “done”.
Results usually last 6–18 months depending on the area, the product and your body. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if the result ever needs to be adjusted or reversed.
